Join or leave a group

Members can join any public group in their club and leave any group they are in, without asking an admin. Here is where the controls are and what happens after.

You do not need an admin to put you in a team. If a group is public, you can join it yourself — and you can always leave a group you are in.

Join a public group

  1. Open the club from the navigation drawer.
  2. Go to Update profile → Groups to see every group you are allowed to see.
  3. Tap the group you want.
  4. Tap Join.

That is it. You are in, and the group’s schedule starts showing up in What’s Next on your club home screen.

Joining and leaving happen on the group’s own page, not on the list — the list is there to show you what exists and whether you are already in it.

Leave a group

Open the group the same way and tap Leave. Anyone in a group can leave it, including a child account, whatever their role in the club.

What you can and cannot join

  • Public groups — join freely. They are visible to everyone in the club.
  • Private groups — you cannot join these yourself, and you will not see them at all unless you are already in one. An owner or admin adds people to a private group.
  • Child accounts cannot join a group on their own. A parent, owner or admin adds them.

Whoever created the group is notified when somebody joins or leaves it.

If the Join button looks wrong

Your group memberships travel inside your sign-in token, which means an admin adding you to a group on their phone cannot update the copy on yours. If a group shows the wrong state — no Joined badge when you know you are in it, or a Join button for a group you already belong to — pull down to refresh on the club home screen. That is the one action that fetches a new token and rebuilds your list of groups.

Refreshing the group page alone will not do it: that reloads the group, which was never the stale part.
